Attorney Robert F. Lingold, Jr.
Robert F. Lingold, Jr. leads the firm’s criminal justice and personal injury practice. He is fierce when representing clients accused of a crime and fights aggressively to defend their legal rights. He is also skilled and determined when representing clients who have been injured by the negligent actions of others.
Some of his most meaningful cases include getting criminal charges dropped against innocent clients and recovering hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages for clients who were seriously injured.
Robert earned a B.S. in History from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1996 and a Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law in 1999. He is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, the Rankin County Bar Association, and the Mississippi Prosecutors Association.
Robert built a strong legal reputation early by representing insurance companies defending against lawsuits and resolving claims filed by insureds. He served as Assistant County Attorney for Rankin County, and he worked diligently in his role as the Youth Court Prosecutor to protect children who were abandoned, abused and neglected.
Robert brings valuable insight and uncanny skill when representing injured clients filing claims against defendants’ insurance companies, because he understands the inner workings of the insurance industry. His previous legal experience on the other side of the table enables him to anticipate and out-maneuver insurance representatives, to the benefit of his clients. In a similar way, his time as a prosecutor makes him a tough defense attorney, because he knows how to go toe-to-toe with legal opponents in criminal cases.
Robert credits playing sports for his competitive nature and determination to win.
“When you’re in the courtroom, you’re in the battle. People say I’m such a nice guy, that I’m so laid back and easy going. That’s all true. But once we cross that line and are on the playing field in court, we’re not friends anymore. We’re doing battle.”
Robert is deeply rooted in the community and in his faith. He previously served as an Alderman for the City of Florence, Mississippi. He spent years coaching youth sports and sat on several Boards of Directors for sports and recreational organizations. He lives with his wife, Kelley a teacher, in Florence where they have raised three children (Trey, Lindsley, and Will).
Robert is a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Florence, where he has served as a deacon and currently serves as a Trustee.
Robert describes himself this way: “I don’t wear the black cloth, so I don’t make the decision. But I can fight hard for my clients. I’m honest and forthright, and my faith gives me balance. Sometimes I’m working with someone who’s really broken, especially in criminal law, and I know I can help them, in legal matters and in spirit.”
